Music Therapy

There are many reasons someone may seek out music therapy for themselves, from learning to manage difficult emotions to getting back in touch with their musical self.

What does music therapy look like?

In a humanistic, resource-oriented approach, music therapy looks like whatever will be most beneficial for your unique mental and emotional wellness needs.

  • Having trouble expressing or managing your emotions? We can use musical improvisation or song discussion to help identify potential expressive barriers and move through them.

  • Grieving a major life change? We can use music assisted relaxation or songwriting to work toward closure and learn to live in your new reality.

  • Feeling unfulfilled without a musical outlet? We can meet regularly to write songs, create playlists, or just jam!

Flexible rates to fit your budget

  • Rates start at $85 per 45-minute session and $50 per 30-minute session for individuals, families, and small groups up to three people.

  • Sliding scale and equity-based pricing are available upon request.

  • Our services are currently private pay only, as we are not able to accept any insurance or offer “superbills” at this time.

  • We may be able to offer incentives, including discounted or free sessions, if you refer friends or family or book multiple sessions at once.

A note on equity-based pricing:

Equity and Integrity are core values in Fleming Music Therapy’s mission. It is important to us that people have access to mental health and emotional wellness services regardless of their life or financial situation. The truth is that there are many barriers to folks accessing and benefiting from mental health services, including barriers related to finances, culture, and accessibility.

To practice with cultural humility and integrity, Fleming Music Therapy offers equity-based rates upon request. If you are someone who identifies as a person of color (including Black, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian or Pacific Islander), a disabled person, an LGBTQ+ person, a person of low-income/low-resources, or someone of another marginalized identity not listed here, and are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please include this information in your initial contact and we can find a rate that works best for you.
